Dr. Rajesh Dubey

President

Rajesh is a seasoned sustainability and social development professional, having over 25 years of rich experience in the field. Armed with a doctorate, he has demonstrated his adeptness in crafting sustainable supply chains across a diverse array of agri-commodities such as coffee, tea, sugarcane and non-renewables minerals.

During his illustrious career, particularly in his last 15 years as a senior manager, Rajesh has honed his expertise through close collaborations with multilateral organizations such as the U.K. Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) erstwhile, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank group.

In his role as the head of coffee sustainability for Asia at Louis Dreyfus Commodities, Rajesh spearheaded teams across coffee origins in Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and China. His hands-on experience in partnering with multinational corporations such as Unilever, Nestle, Tata Global Beverages, ECOM, and Ned Coffee underscores his intrepidness in navigating the corporate sector.

Furthermore, Rajesh has played a pivotal role in collaborating with global sustainability standard bodies like UTZ Certified (now merged with Rainforest Alliance), Bonsucro: Better Sugarcane Initiative, Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS), and Common Code for Coffee Community (4C) Association. Currently, he is actively engaged with the Code of Responsible Extraction (CORE) for industrial minerals, catering to FMCG and other supply chain actors. Moreover, he leads the regenerative agriculture program for coffee in the region, showcasing his commitment to fostering sustainable farming practices.

Rajesh’s multifaceted experience, academic accomplishment, and collaborative leadership position him as a highly respected figure within the realm of sustainability and social development.

CA Anil Krishna

Secretary

Anil Krishna is a distinguished Fellow Chartered Accountant with over two decades of profound expertise in finance and accounts. His illustrious career spans various facets of financial management, including programme budgeting, fund management, and organization development. With a keen eye for detail, he has consistently ensured statutory compliance and strengthened partner engagements throughout his career.

Mr. Krishna’s extensive experience extends across diverse geographical regions, having managed operations in several Asian countries such as India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand. Currently serving as the Director of Finance for the Asia region at Noora Health, he holds primary responsibility for overseeing financial matters in India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh.

His journey in the development sector commenced in 2004 with ORBIS International, a prominent US-based charity, followed by roles at WaterAid and VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas), esteemed UK-based charities. Subsequently, Mr. Krishna contributed significantly to the finance domain at Solidaridad Network, a charity of Dutch origin, where he served as the Asia Finance Controller for nearly 13 years.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Krishna is a founding Board Member of Vision Spring Foundation in India, showcasing his commitment to philanthropy. He has served as a trustee for over a decade, manifest his unwavering dedication to social causes and community welfare.

Neeraj Verma

Treasurer

Neeraj boasts over twenty years of extensive expertise in research and strategic endeavors, commencing his illustrious career at ORG MARG before contributing his talents to various prestigious national and international organizations. His repertoire includes the conceptualization and design of research studies spanning corporate landscapes, brand dynamics, opinion polling, health sectors, educational realms, and a gamut of socio-economic initiatives.

Renowned for his adept management of large-scale, intricate research ventures, Neeraj’s problem-solving acumen and crisis management skills have consistently surmounted operational hurdles. Notably, he has led pivotal projects, such as formulating a comprehensive perspective plan for state government tourism development, orchestrating nationwide research endeavors for India’s leading political party during pivotal elections, and meticulously assessing the efficacy of India’s governmental welfare initiatives.

Beyond his involvement in corporate and brand-focused inquiries, Neeraj has delved into critical domains, including diabetes, osteoporosis, severe sepsis, heart disease, clinical trials, and literacy campaigns. His academic foundation in science, coupled with a postgraduate diploma in management, underline his multidisciplinary approach and untiring commitment to excellence in research and strategy.

Prof. G Venkat Raman

Executive Member

Dr. G Venkat Raman is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. He is a Fulbright Fellow at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University (Virginia, USA). In the Schar School, Venkat offers a course titled ‘China Challenge’ for the post-graduates and doctoral students. He is also researching the current state of US-China power rivalries, explicitly focusing on the technology war and climate change. Venkat is primarily a Sinologist. Apart from China studies, Venkat has developed a keen interest in Business Ethics during the last more than eleven years of his association with IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode. Besides teaching core courses like Introduction to International Relations (for UG participants) and Ethics and CSR (for PG participants), he offers elective courses like Power Rivalries and Global Governance in the Twenty-first Century, Understanding the China Challenge, and Political Risk Management. He has completed his doctoral studies at the School of Government in China’s premier university, Peking University, Beijing. Venkat is a fluent Mandarin speaker. He has been a visiting Fellow at the BRICS Centre, Fudan University, Shanghai, and a visiting Faculty member at ICN Nancy, France. His areas of research interest are China’s interface with Global Governance and Business Ethics pedagogy. Venkat’s most recent work is a co-edited volume on BRICS. The edited volume is titled ‘Locating BRICS in the Global Order: Perspectives from Global South’ and published by Routledge, London. He has also co-authored case studies on Indian businesses in China. These are part of prestigious case centres like Ivey Publishing, ISB Hyderabad, and China Europe International Business School, Shanghai. Apart from academics, Venkat is a member of the Board of Trustees, Azad Foundation, New Delhi, which works to financially empower women below the poverty line by training them in non-traditional livelihoods.

Dr. KK Pandey

Dr. Pandey is a distinguished medical professional, holding an MBBS degree from Kanpur University earned in 1980, an MS in General Surgery from the same university obtained in 1983, and a PhD in Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery accredited by the Suprime Attestation Commission in 1992. With nearly three decades of dedicated service, he has emerged as one of the foremost Thoracic & Vascular Surgeons in Delhi.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Pandey has demonstrated steadfast commitment to alleviating cardiac ailments, catering to a wide spectrum of patients with cardiac concerns. His expertise extends across the domain of thoracic and vascular surgery, where he has garnered immense respect from peers and patients alike.

Dr. Pandey’s contributions transcend clinical practice; he actively engages with prestigious international and national organizations, including the Thoracic Cardiovascular Society of India and the International Society of Vascular Surgeons. Moreover, his scholarly pursuits have led him to conduct extensive research on the application of Omentoplasty in Broncho Pleural Fistula repair, thereby augmenting the existing body of medical knowledge in the field.

Driven by a passion for excellence and a deep-seated compassion for his patients, Dr. Pandey epitomizes the pinnacle of proficiency and dedication in the realm of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery.

Dr. Utpal Das

Executive Member

Utpal, a medical graduate from Guwahati Medical College, furthered his education with a Master’s Degree from the Royal Tropical Institute in the Netherlands. With over two decades of dedicated service in the Public Health sector across various states in India, he has amassed invaluable experience and expertise.

His specialization lies in system strengthening, where he has played pivotal roles in revolutionizing healthcare delivery systems. Noteworthy among his achievements is his instrumental contribution to strategizing Family Planning services through Public-Private Partnerships in Uttarakhand under the Innovations in Family Planning Services project, funded by USAID (2009-2012). Similarly, in Bihar, under the Bihar Technical Support Project funded by BMGF, his strategic interventions led to Bihar being awarded the National Award for ‘Best State in delivering Tubectomy services’ in 2016.

In Assam, Utpal led the groundbreaking USAID RISE Project, resulting in significant milestones such as the establishment of the country’s first High Fidelity Simulation Lab at a public facility (Guwahati Medical College, Guwahati), and the setup of the second ‘Oxygen Ecosystem Skill Lab’ at Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh. His visionary leadership and resolute efforts have brought about transformative changes in healthcare infrastructure and service delivery, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he serves.

Ranjita Rani

With an extensive 14-year tenure in Information Technology, Ranjita Rani emerges as an experienced professional committed to leveraging technology for social good. Her expertise lies in US healthcare, Education ERP systems, and Cybersecurity, where she has cultivated a distinctive skill set amalgamating technical vigorous with a fervor for instigating meaningful change.

As one of the founding board members of I-Catalysts, Ranjita leads with a visionary zeal, aiming to harness technology as a catalyst for positive transformation. Through strategic initiatives and pioneering solutions, she dedicates herself to tackling societal issues head-on and empowering marginalized communities. By nurturing collaboration and steering towards sustainable outcomes, Ranjita endeavors to foster a world that is more inclusive and just for all.

Sarfarj Ali Ahamed

Sarfaraj Ali Ahamed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Calcutta University and obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Health Care and Hospital Management from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Calcutta. Also, he has done Six Sigma-White Belt certification from “The Council of Six Sigma Certification”, USA.

With a dedicated commitment spanning over 16 years, he has been actively involved in the realm of public health management. Presently, he works at the Jindal Institute of Medical Sciences (JIMS) in Hisar, Haryana, where he oversees the comprehensive operations.

Driven by a profound passion for public health, Sarfaraj also contributes as a board member to the Naujhil Integrated Rural Project for Health and Development (NIRPHAD), a grassroots health organization located in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

Ambika Jha

Executive Member

Ms. Ambika Jha brings extensive expertise in finance and accounting, garnered through her tenure at esteemed organizations like Tata Steel and various consulting firms. She holds the prestigious title of Fellow at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountant of India (ICMAI), demonstrating her deep understanding of cost and management accounting principles. Additionally, she has completed the Executive Program in Company Secretaryship from the Institute of Company Secretaryship of India (ICSI), further enhancing her professional repertoire.

Ms. Jha generously shares her wealth of knowledge by instructing CMA students at the Bhopal chapter of ICMAI, contributing to the development of future professionals in the field. Beyond her professional commitments, she dedicates her time to collaborate with development agencies, advocating for gender equity and fostering inclusive growth initiatives.

Rajnish Kumar

Rajnish Kumar currently serves as the Head of Legal, Fraud Control Unit and GRO at IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company Ltd, boasting an extensive 22-year tenure in the legal domain. His rich experience encompasses advocacy before diverse courts and adept counsel roles within various corporate entities. Rajnish has left his mark at renowned life insurance firms such as Reliance Nippon Life, Aegon Religare, Bharti Axa Life and Star Union Dai-ichi. Noteworthy for his expertise, he frequently engages as a speaker at prestigious forums, delving into contemporary legal matters. His outstanding contributions were duly recognized when he was honored with the prestigious Legal Counsel of the Year Award in the insurance sector for the year 2023.

Dr. Rajan Kumar

Rajan Kumar is an Associate Professor in the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. He joined this university as an Assistant Professor in Dec. 2006.  He has studied in Delhi University (BA), Jawaharlal Nehru University (MA/PhD) and University of Kentucky, USA. Before joining JNU, he taught two courses on American Politics and Culture and Politics in Third World Countries in the University of Kentucky as a Teaching Assistant (2004-5). He attended the ICPSR Programme in Quantitative Method at University of Michigan, USA. He has also lived and taught in Russia for a few months. Currently, he teaches courses on Research Methods, and Foreign Policy to MA/PhD students in the School of International Studies, JNU, Delhi.

He has written several books and is a well-known figure on India’s foreign policy and international politics. He writes regularly for leading newspapers and appears on various TV channels as an expert. 

He is associated with several civil-society organisations working on capacity building and sustainable development.

Dr. Narendra Kakade

Dr. Narendra Kakade was awarded Doctorate from the Centre of Social Medicine & Community Health at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Since 2010, he has been teaching at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

Dr. Kakade’s expertise lies in various aspects of health and hygiene, as evidenced by his extensive publications in esteemed journals.

His areas of specialization encompass:

 – Menstrual Hygiene Management

 – Sustainable and inclusive healthcare financing

 – Health Issues affecting Adolescent Girls

 – Morbidity prevalence and treatment-seeking behavior

 – Preparedness of Health Services for Maternal and Child Health Problems

Dr. Tapati Dutta

Dr. Dutta is an Assistant Professor and the Interim Chair of Public Health at Fort Lewis College (FLC), a Native American Serving Nontribal Institution (NASNTI), and Minority Serving Institution (MSI), located in Southwest Colorado, USA.

A self-described “pracademic”, Dr. Tapati Dutta is a social scientist and inclusion strategist in public health – with almost 25 years of blended experience in teaching, program management, socio-behavioral research, community-based health education, policy advocacy, and service, including her widely viewed TEDx talk ‘Life Lessons via Cannibals, Sex Workers & Marginalized People’. Her prolific practice, teaching, scholarship, and service roles continue to advance collaborative leadership, interdisciplinary problem solving, DEI informed strategic approaches, and compassionate policy advocacy, honed by extensive technical training in public health, social work, and participatory research.

Her research interests include public health policy and systems to address global health disparities with focus on sexual and reproductive health, chronic diseases, and biomedical tools for disease prevention (including vaccines). While her research is oriented as translational – program and policy advocacy through the application of ecological frameworks and community-based participatory research – her systems research reiterates ‘community engagement’ to realize social, relational, and ethical determinants of health policies and programs. Her policy research includes gender and community responsive policies for vaccination uptake and cervical cancer prevention and control. A significant body of her scholarship also reports agentic description and indigenizing public health teaching and developing pedagogies of trust in Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institution.

Prof. G.N Trivedi

Professor G.N. Trivedi (retired) carries an illustrious tenure of 38 years as a distinguished educator in Political Science at the University of Delhi. Throughout his esteemed career, he has not only imparted knowledge but has also nurtured the academic growth of numerous scholars, supervising the successful completion of dissertations for a commendable half a dozen M.Phil and Ph.D. students. In addition to his impactful mentorship, Professor Trivedi has spearheaded multiple research endeavors, generously supported by prestigious institutions such as the UGC, ICSSR, the Planning Commission, and the Ministry of Rural Development. His scholarly pursuits have garnered international acclaim, with presentations at esteemed venues including the International Studies Association (ISA) conferences held across the USA, Europe, and Hong Kong University, alongside his active participation in numerous national conferences.

Furthermore, Professor Trivedi’s intellectual contributions extend beyond the classroom and conference halls, with the publication of three seminal books and over two dozen scholarly articles in esteemed journals and publications. His writings have not only enriched academic discourse but have also left a lasting imprint on the field of Political Science, reflecting his constant dedication to advancing knowledge and fostering critical inquiry.
